What We Teach

At Oneighty, our goal is to introduce students to the real Jesus. One of the ways we do this is by teaching them about the character of God and how to become more like Christ in their current phase of life. We want to be intentional about what we say every week, so each student is walking away remembering what is most important. Here are the eight ideas that we hope every student takes away from their time at Oneighty.

A Real Trust in the Real Jesus

We have a reliable God that we can fully trust, even when we don't understand. Because of this, we can believe what He says and surrender to His will.

A Real Relationship with the Real Jesus

Spiritual disciplines (reading the Bible, praying, fasting, honoring the Sabbath, etc.) reflect our pursuit to better know a God who loves us, saved us, and desires a relationship with us.

Showing Real Honor to the Real Jesus

We honor God by staying within the boundaries of His perfect design for our lives, not because we have to, but because we love Him.

Real Friends Reflect the Real Jesus

Choose friends who reflect Jesus, and be a friend who reflects Jesus.

Real Wisdom in Light of the Real Jesus

In light of who Jesus is, what Jesus has done for me, and the pursuit to be more like Him, what's the wise thing to do?

Real Submission to the Real Jesus

True freedom is found in humbly submitting to Jesus and the authority He has established.

Real Compassion Is Possible Because of the Real Jesus

We show our compassion by using our God-given gifts and resources to make an eternal impact in the lives of others.

Only in Knowing the Real Jesus Can You Know the Real You

You are defined by what God says about you, and your worth is found in His great love for you.
